IFS Notification 2016: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified to conduct IFS exam to recruit officers for the Indian Forest Service and for this purpose IFS Notification has been released. The UPSC will hold a Screening Test for selection to Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, which is scheduled to be held on 07th August 2016 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Eligible Indian Nationals can apply for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Exam through filling online Registration form on or before last date.

UPSC IFS Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aspirants must have done Graduation with one or more of the subjects as Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Sciences/ Botany/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Zoology/ Agriculture/ Forestry/ Engineering from any certified university/ institute.
  • Applicant who are appearing for the final year or those who are waiting for results can to apply for the examination

Age Restriction:

Candidates are required to be not less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of age to apply for the examination. The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ ST candidate and 03 years for OBC candidates.

Application Fee:
  • Candidates need to submit Rs. 100/- as application fee through net banking of SBI and its associate banks or by any Master/Visa Credit/Debit Cards or by paying Cash at any SBI branch.
  • Female, SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from examination fee.
Selection Procedure for IFS Notification:

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of performance in Preliminary Examination and Main Examination.

The Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination will consist of two successive stages:-

(1) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination
(2) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

How to fill UPSC IFS Application form?
  • Candidates are required to apply Online for IFS Notification using UPSC Website that is www.upsconline.nic.in
  • Visit the section “What’s New” and follow link ‘DAF – Indian Forest Service Examination, 2016’.
  • You must follow all the steps and must complete online filling application form process with entering correct details.
  • Applicant need to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature and submit it. The documents (if required) are to be uploaded to the online application website only.
  • After that press on ‘Save’ button and verify all the details you have enter. After ensuring all the entered details correct, hit Submit box for final submission of form.
