Get Complete Details About NET Exam:

The CBSE Board conducts the UGC- NET for other Science subjects, like Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the University Grants Commission.
  • The tests are organized twice in a year generally in months of June and December.
  • But in 2017, CBSE is going to conduct exam in the month of January 2017.
  • For entrants, who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship is available for five years subject to fulfillment of certain circumstances.
  • University Grants Commission has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for entrants who qualify the test for Junior Research Fellowship. 
  • The JRFs are rewarded to the meritorious entrants from among the entrant’s qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in National Eligibility Test. 
  • CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 90 selected Cities of Examination spread throughout India.
CBSE UGC NET Exam Pattern:

National Eligibility Test consists of three papers and it consists of objective type questions in three separate sessions which as follows:

Paper-I:
  • Paper I is of general nature, planned to evaluate the teaching/research aptitude of the entrant.
  • Paper I will mainly be planned to evaluate the analysis ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of entrant.
  • 60 multiple type questions of 2 marks each will be given, out of which entrant will be required to answer any 50 question.
  • In event of entrant attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted by entrant would be evaluated.
Paper-II: Paper-II consists of 50 objective type necessary questions based on subject selected by entrant. Every question will carry 2 marks only.

Paper-III: Paper-III consists of 75 objective type necessary questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Every question will carry 2 marks only.

How to prepare for UGC NET Exam? How UGC NET Syllabus is Helpful!!!

UGC NET Exam consists of 3 papers:

Paper-1 (General Paper On Teaching And Research Aptitude):

The main purpose of Paper-1 is to evaluate the entrant’s interest as well as capabilities in Teaching and Research. Skills are necessary to identify the subject, reasoning, application of methodological reasoning etc which are being analyzed by this paper.

How to Prepare for Paper I?
  • As we all know that syllabus is very huge. One needs to get knowledge on every feature in detailed manner.
  • He or she has to refer all the subjects in a continuous basis and in a most disciplined manner.
  • Keep yourself updated about the current affairs, working to read and understand the questions well and searching the answers are to be adopted by entrants.
  • He has to do Mock test Practices frequently.
  • Try to solve as many multiple choice questions as you can and also read the subjects from the basics is must.
How to Prepare for Paper 2 & 3?
  • These are the papers which were chosen by entrants as per Master's or Post Graduate Degree.
  • Candidates must have some fundamental as well as advanced knowledge.
  • Try to finish one chapter per week along with practicing model papers daily.
  • With the help of mock tests you will become familiar with speed reading, understanding the subject etc and getting a hit regarding the answers in your mind without wasting a single minute.
  • Also you can analyze and learn your strong and weak points.
  • Revise the subjects as much as possible.
  • Divide the time properly.
  • Concentrate on those subjects where you are lacking.
UGC NET Admit Card 2017:
  • Board issues admit card in the month of June and December every year. No admission cards will be sent to the candidates by post.
  • The contenders must download their hall ticket from the official site to determine their venue of exam as given in the hall ticket and appear in the examination only at the selected examination center.
  • No contenders will be allowed to appear at the examination center other than that allotted to him/her in the call letter.

Procedure & Criteria for Declaration Of Result:

It will consist of following steps:

Step I: Minimum marks to be acquired in NET Exam for allowing an entrant for the reward of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor: The Entrants are required to get minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper –III which are as follows:

  • Step II: Amongst those entrants who have qualified step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise via the aggregate marks of all the three papers protected by such entrants.
  • Step III: Top 15% contenders (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.
  • Step IV: A separate merit list for award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared.
Which Type of Answer Sheet will be Used This Year?

The Answer Sheet used will be of special type which will be scanned on Optical Scanner. The following columns of Answer Sheet are to be filled in properly and neatly by the entrants with Blue/Black ball point pen only. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.
