UGC NET Exam Pattern

Here we are providing exam pattern of UGC NET exam. The test paper will consist of three papers that are Paper I, Paper II and Paper III.

Paper I:

By Paper I General Knowledge of appliers is tested. Paper I contains topics as following below:
  • Teaching Aptitude
  • Research Aptitude
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Data Interpretation
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Communication
  • Current Affairs related to the subject and
  • Higher Education System- Governance
  • Polity and Administration etc
Paper II:

Paper II will contain Multiple Choice Questions based on the subject (Given Above) selected by the appliers for the exam.


Paper III:
  • Paper III will contain 75 descriptive type questions. All questions will be compulsory and you have to describe all questions as per given word limit.
  • Central Board of Secondary Education conducts National Eligibility Test to determine eligibility of candidates for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship. On basis of rank in this test candidates can apply for Junior Research Fellowships and Assistant Professor Posts in Indian Colleges and Universities.
