AFCAT Eligibility Criteria:

For Flying Branch:

Candidates should possess Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.

For Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:

Candidates with minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year degree graduation/integrated post- graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers

For Ground Duty (Non-Technical):

Aspirants should possess Graduate Degree / B. Com Degree / MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc from a recognized university with 60% marks or equivalent qualification.

Limitation of Age:
  • For Flying Branch: Age of candidates should not be less than 20 years and not more than 26 years as on 01 Jan 2018 i.e. Born between 02 Jan 1992 to 01 Jan 1998 (both dates inclusive).
  • For Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical): Age of candidates should not be less than 20 and not more than 26 years as on 01Jan 2018 i.e. Born between 02 Jan 1992 to 01 Jan 1998 (both dates inclusive).
Pay and Allowances:
  • For Flying Branch: Rs. 82,050/-
  • For Ground Duty (Tech) Branch: Rs. 71,550/-
  • For Ground Duty (Non-tech) Branch: Rs. 68,550/-
  • In addition to the Pay & Allowances, officers are entitled to furnished accommodation, comprehensive medical cover for self and dependents, supply of entitled rations, Canteen & officers' Mess facilities and many more. LTC and Leave subject to service exigency.
AFCAT Selection Procedure:
  • Selection of candidates will be done on basis of their performance in Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) on 26 February 2017.
  • The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude.
  • Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of AFCAT/EKT will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar, Varanasi or Kancharapara.

Process to fill AFCAT Online Application Form:
  • Candidates first visit the official site that is www.careerairforce.nic.in.
  •  Select the appropriate link of notification and read entire details carefully.
  • After that must select the “CANDIDATE LOGIN” link
  • Then must read complete instructions properly and then must note down Registration number for future correspondence.
  • Then fill AFCAT Application Form with complete details then must upload the scanned documents / certificates, passport size photograph, signature with the form
  • Upload your recent color passport size photograph (size 10 to 50 KB) with your AFCAT Application Form.
  • At last take a review of the filled form and submit it within given time period and take a print out of AFCAT Application Form for further use.
