UPSC Preparation Links

Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension

Part-A:

Essay questions which are to be answered in long narrative form either In Hindi or English totaling 80 Marks. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, Knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.

Part-B:

Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension Passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammar and Other aspects of language testing.


UPSC CPF (AC) Exam Pattern:

Written Examination
Paper-I
General Ability and Intelligence (Objective Type)
250 Marks
Paper-II
Essay, Precis writing and comprehension (Conventional Type)
150 Marks
Physical And Medical Standards Test
To be conducted only of candidates who qualify the written examination.
Interview for Personality Test
200 Marks

Paper I consists of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type questions and questions will be set in English as well as Hindi. There is negative mark will be cut for each wrong answer.

Paper-II will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/ language skills will be in English.

Must Know About UPSC Central Police Force (AC) Exam

Earlier, Union Public Service Commission released the employment advertisement as UPSC CAPF Recruitment. There are nearly 179 vacant positions according to the Latest Employment News. With this intention of selecting willing candidates, Union Public Service Commission will hold a Written Examination on 23-07-2017 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Sashastra Seema BAL (SSB).

Those applicants who will qualify in Written Examination may appear for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. The Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests will be organized under the supervision of a Nodal Authority to be selected by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Applicants, who are declared qualified in Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/ Personality Test to be organized by Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC CAPF Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by applicants in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
