Bihar Public Service Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), which covers two examinations. Here in this section we are providing you detail about Bihar Public Service Commission Exam Pattern 2017.
  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination 
Preliminary Examination:

The preliminary examination of BPSC - PCS contains objective type questions the one who qualify in this exam is eligible to appear in main examination. The applicants need to select and mark the answer from several options. The exam will contain 150 questions of one mark each. It implies that the preliminary exam will be of 150 marks in aggregate. The exam will be conducted for two hours i.e. 120 minutes.

Main Examination:

This exam contains subjective type questions. It consists of written examination and Interview. Candidates will be given a list of subjects in which they have to select any two subject of their choice and question paper will be given from the selected subjects.
The main examination consists of the following exams:
The Written Examination comprises four papers in BPSC Main Examination which are as follows:
  • Hindi
  • General Studies
  • First Optional Paper and
  • Second Optional Paper
  • Written Examination Total Marks – 1200
Subject
Description
Hindi 
Candidates appearing in exam have to obtain not less than 30 marks in Hindi. It is to be noted that no extra marks will be included in the total marks of Hindi subject.  
General Studies
GS is divided in two categories namely:
  • GS Paper I
  • GS Paper II
The paper will be held for three hours and maximum marks for each GS paper is 200. The above listed General Studies sections are further divided into three parts.
First Optional Paper 
  • Paper 4 – paper I of First Optional subjects ( carries a total of 200 Marks)
  • Paper 5 – paper II of First Optional subject (carries a total 200 Marks)
Second Optional Paper 
  • Paper 6 – paper I of Second Optional Subject (carries a total 200 Marks)
  • Paper 7 – paper II of Second Optional Subject (carries a total 200 Marks)
