What is SBI Specialist Officer Salary?

State Bank of India (SBI) along with its five Associate Banks: State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (SBBJ), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Patiala (SBP) and State Bank of Travancore (SBT) offer Specialist Officer Vacancies in 5 grade scales. Pay Scale for each grade is different and it varies from Rs.14500 to Rs.40400 depending upon the post and grade.


SBI Specialist Officer Salary Structure is different for Officer Scale I and Officer Scale II, which is as follows:

Officer Scale I:
  • Rs. 23700-980(7)-30560-1145(2)-32850-1310(7)-42020
  • The approx. SBI SO Salary Cash in hand of Officer Scale 1 after appointment will be around Rs. 24000-32000/-. 
Officer Scale II:
  • Rs. 31705-1145(1)-32850-1310(10)-45950.
  • For officer scale 2, minimum 2-3 years experience in the respective field depending on the post is desired.
  • SO salary structure means the basic pay will be Rs. 31705 for officer MMG Scale 2
Officer Scale III:
  • Rs. 42020-1310(5)-48570-1460(2)-51490.
  • The basis salary for the Officer scale III is Rs. 42020-1310/- that will be provided by the state bank of India.

SBI SO Career Growth:

For the post of Specialist Officers, there is limited career growth. The promoted positions will be like Law, Civil or Electrical has been somewhat lower in comparison to Generalist (Banking) Officers as the vacancies shrink higher up the ladder.

It takes approx four years from the AM to reach on the next levels and PO is eligible for the next promotions after 2 years.  For the first two Promotions, SBI Bank has set criteria of written examination and Interview and after you don’t need to face any written or Interview to get promotion.
