UPSC Geologist Exam Notification

Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC Geologist Notification to inform candidates about UPSC Geologist Exam. Organization is going to conduct exam for selection to 40 Geologist, 40 Geophysicist, 25 Chemist and 33 Junior Hydrogeologists Posts.   • In Part I registration, candidate will have to fill basic information. On submission of details, candidate will be prompted to check the details and make correction.
  • Before going to registration, applicants must have Scanned photograph in JPG format. The digital size of file must be less that 40 kb and greater than 3 kb and resolution 140 pixel heights by 110 pixel width and Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.
  • Then fill online application form with all required details.
  • Now Candidates can pay application fee online though SBI net banking or cash through SBI bank Challan or through credit card/debit card.
  • Submit the application fee and then again revisit the site for part two registration.
  • Complete the Part-II registration by filling the entries.
  • On successful completion of your complete application, an auto-generated email will be sent on your registered email-id. In case email is not received by you please check / ensure that submission of Part-II of the Application has been made by you.
  • Upload the scan copy of essential documents such as passport size photograph and signature in JPG format.

UPSC Eligibility Criteria

To apply for any UPSC Exam is that, applying contender must be citizen of India or a subject of Nepal / Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from other countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. They should have degree or diploma in concerned stream from recognized university or institutions with relevant working experience.

UPSC Age Eligibility:
  • UPSC Age Limit for applying contender is that they must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1985 and not later than 1st August, 1994.
  • UPSC Age Relaxation will be made for candidates belonging to SC (Scheduled Castes) / ST (Scheduled Tribe), OBC (Other Backward Classes) and physically disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government from time to time.
UPSC Exam Syllabus:

UPSC Preliminary Syllabus:

The UPSC Preliminary exam contains two required papers of 200 marks each that is General Studies (Paper I) and General Studies (Paper II). Those who qualify UPSC Prelims Exam are only be eligible to appear in UPSC Mains exam and it contains the 09 papers, but only 07 papers will be calculated for final merit ranking and for the rest 02 papers, the applicant should secure minimum marks prescribed by UPSC each year.

After declare qualify in Mains examination, you’re eligible to appear in interview session and there is no syllabus for interview round.
