The Council of Architecture conducts the National Aptitude Test in Architecture to check the ability of the aspirants to pursue the course of Architecture. Through this test the council tests the drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability of the candidates as these are the basis requirement that should be present in the candidate who is going to study the architectural course. NATA Eligibility Criteria:
  • Qualifications required to appear in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture is:
  • To appear in the examination the aspirants should possess 10+2/ 10+3 Diploma in any discipline or equivalent recognized by Central/State government with Mathematics as one of the subjects of examination;
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

Eligibility for admission to B.Arch. Course:

Aspirants who are willing to get admission in the B.Arch. Course should be:
  • Qualified in National Aptitude Test in Architecture or equivalent in 2017 OR 2016
  • Should have attained  10+2/ 10+3 Diploma in any discipline or equivalent recognized by Central/State government with Mathematics as one of the subjects of examination;
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
What is the minimum Age Limit?

The minimum age of the aspirants to fill the NATA Application Form should not be less than 17 years as on 31st July 2017.

On what basis the candidates will be selected?

The selection of the candidates for the 5 year architectural program will be done on the basis of their performance in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture.

Preparation Stuff

Qualifying marks for the test would be based on the following rules:

1. At least 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (30 out of 120)
2. At least 25% must be secured in drawing portion (20 out of 80)

Application fees:

An application amount of Rs. 1250/- have to be paid by all the candidates except the candidates opting for exam city Dubai

Note: Those who are subsequently allotted centre in Dubai shall be liable to pay an additional examination fee of INR 7000 prior to issuance of admit card

Mode to submit the application form:

The application fees will be submitted through online mode i.e. by using Debit Card, Credit Card, and Net Banking using Bill Desk EPG services

How to Apply For NATA Entrance Exam?
  • Visit the official website of the organization i.e. nata.nic.in
  • From the homepage appeared select “online registration for NATA 2017”
  • On the next page you will find two blocks one for the new candidates and another for the registered candidates
  • If you are a registered candidate then fill the NATA Application Form, Application No, Password, Enter Security Pin, Security Pin etc and hit on the sign in tab
  • If you are a new candidate then follow the steps as appeared below
  • Fill the NATA Application Form first
  • First of all hit on the apply tab
  • Read the details that appeared on the next page and then hit on “hit here to proceed”
  • Now on the next screen you will find the NATA Application Form
  • Fill the details that are asked
  • Then hit on the submit tab
  • Then complete the second step by uploading a scanned passport sized photograph of yours and Signature and Thumb impression
  • Then hit on the uploading tab
  • Now at last pay the application fees by using the appropriate mode.
  • Once all the procedures are completed hit on the final submission tab and your registration will be successful.
  • Now you will be redirected to the confirmation page
  • Take a print out of the confirmation page and keep it safe for further use.

Points to remember at the time of uploading the photograph of yours and Signature and Thumb impression:

Photographs should be of minimum size of 4 KB up to a maximum size of 100 KB. The height of the photograph should be  4.5 cm and width should be 3.5 cm
Size of Left thumb impression should be between 1 KB to 30 KB, height should not be less than 1.5 cm and width should be  3.5 cm
Size of Signature should be between 1 KB to 30 KB and the height, width should be 1.5 cm and 3.5 cm

  • The mathematics and the general aptitude examination will be MCQ (OMR based)
  • The Drawing examination will be a paper-pencil based examination
  • The timings of the examination will be 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
  • No candidate will be allowed in examination hall after 15 minutes of commencement of the examination.
  • Mobile Phones, Bluetooth devices, Calculators, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of Calculator are not allowed in the Examination Hall. Possession of such items during the Examinations may lead to cancellation of candidature.

  • Registration will be started from 4th January 2017
  • Last date for registration is  2nd February 2017 (11:59 PM)
  • Image uploads allowed till 3rd February 2017 (11:59 PM)
  • Fee payment allowed till 4th February 2017 (11:59 PM)
  • Confirmation page printing available till 28th February 2017 (11:59 PM)
  • Correction window (based on council feedback & self induced errors) from 20th Feb (10:30 AM) to 24th Feb (11:59 PM)
  • Admit card can be downloaded from 26th March 2017
  • Exam will be conducted on 16th April 2017 (11 AM to 2 PM)
  • Result will be announced on 10th June 2017
