Get Eligibility Criteria To Get In To Indian Army Forces

You may easily become the part of Indian Army by meeting up all the requirements according to the norms of the Indian Army Forces. Your qualification, age limitation must be according to the directives of the army. 

Educational Qualifications:

Appliers must be Matriculation passed with the subjects such as Science and English to join Indian Army GD. Matriculation or its equivalent is the minimum educational requirement of organization to sit in the Indian army GD (NER) exam.


Age Requirements:

If we talking about age requirement, then your age will be come in between 17½ to 23 years. You need to submit the documents of high school for the clarification of the age limitation.

Nationality:
  • Selection of candidates is also based on their nationality to. Whether you are belonging to any community, you can join Indian army.
  • If you are belong to the Gorkha subject, then you’re not need to submit their certificate of eligibility of nationality
  • Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 01st January 1962 is also eligible to apply.
  • A person migrated from Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, Pakistan, Burma the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam and settled permanently in India can also join Indian army.

Physical and Medical Standards for Joining Indian Army
  • Appliers must have good physical as well as mental health and must free from any disease or disability which can interfere in efficient performance of duties.
  • Gorkhas belong to hills of North Eastern region of India, Garhwali and Kumaon, their Minimum height must be 5 cms less. If candidates are from Lakshadweep, then minimum height can be reduced by 2 cms for males and females.
  • Candidate’s chest must be range for males should be 5 cms. In recording the measurements, fraction of less than 0.5 cm can be ignored, 0.5 cm will be recorded and 0.6 cm and above will be recorded as 1 cm. Chest X-Ray is compulsory and no disease of the chest should found.
  • The bones and joints of the candidates’ body must be fit and fine
  • Your hearing must be strong. Even you may easily recognize the heart of a forced whisper from both ears at a distance of 610 cms.
  • No evidence of past or present disease of the ear, nose and throat.
  • Aspirant should have normal Blood pressure. There should be no hydrocele, varicocele or piles.
  • Test of Urine will be done and any abnormality, if found detect will be a cause for rejection.
  • Any skin disease which is likely to cause disability or disfigurement will also be a cause for rejection.
  • Examination of the internal eye can be done by means of ophthalmoscope. Therefore, must have good binocular vision.
  • The standard of color vision will be CP-III for Army A candidate should be able to recognize red and green colors.
  • Those who have undergone LASER Surgery for correction of refractive error will be considered for commission in Army if they fulfill following criteria :-
    • More than 20 years of Age
    • Uncomplicated stable LASIK/ Excimer (PRK) laser procedure done for Myopia or Hypermetropia, with stable refraction for a period of six months after the procedure.
    • A strong and healthy retina
    • Corrected vision should be 6/6 in better eye and for worse eye 6/9, with maximum residual refraction of +  1.50 in any meridian for myopia or hypermetropia.
    • Axial length within allowable limits.

Physical and Medical Standards for Joining Indian Navy

Candidate’s need to follow instruction of physical standard which is set by Indian armed forces for the purpose to recruit the best candidates as per Indian defense government rules. The physical Criteria are as follow.
  • Candidates who’re going to apply for the Indian Armed Force, their height must be 167Cm.
  • Chest dimensions of aspirants must not be less than 77cm; as the minimum expansion is 5cm.
  • Weight of appliers should not be less than 50 kg.
  • Nose, ear and throat must be perfectly working for the perfect vision.
  • Moreover, there should be no tattoo over on the skin.

Indian Navy Medical Test
  • Height: The preferable height for a candidate of 18 years of age is 157 cm for males and 152 cm for females.
  • Anthropometric Measurement: The acceptable anthropometric standard for aviation entries i.e Short Service Commission (Aviation & Observer) entry for male is as follows:-
  • Minimum Height-162.5 cm
  • Sitting Height- Minimum 81.5 cm,Maximum-96.0 cm
  • Leg Length – Minimum-99.0 cm,Maximum-120.0 cm
  • Thigh Length-Maximum-64.0
Physical Standards For Candidate Joining Indian Navy As Officers (Male/Female):

These standards are laid down to assess the fitness of a candidate for selection to the Navy. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions in any part of the world. During the inspection of candidates the following principal points are to be ensured:-
  • Hearing is good, that there is no sign of any disease of ear, nose or throat.
  • Vision in eye is up to the required standard. His/her eyes are bright, clear.
  • Speech is without impediment.
  • There is no glandular swelling.
  • Chest is well formed and that his/her heart and lungs are sound.
  • Limbs of the candidates are well formed and fully developed.
  • There is free and perfect action of all the joints.
  • There is no evidence of hernia of any degree or form.
  • Feet and toes are well formed.
  • Absence of any congenital malformation or defects.
  • He/she does not bear traces of previous acute or chronic disease pointing
  • Presence of sufficient number of sound teeth for efficient mastication.
  • Absence of any disease of the Genito- Urinary tract.

Physical and Medical Standards for Joining Indian Air Force

Physical Standards
  • Physical fitness is one of the most important prerequisites for joining the Air Force. Irrespective of the branch you are applying for, you must fulfill some basic physical standards. General physical requirements common for all candidates
  • You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/ disability, which is likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or overweight.
  • The height and weight standards for men and women differ. 
  • Your chest should be well developed. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cm. 
  • There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body. 
  • You should be free of any past history of mental breakdown or fits.
  • Your hearing should be normal without any evidence of present or past disease of the ear, nose and throat. 
  • There should be no sign of functional or organic disease of the heart and blood vessels. Your blood pressure should also be normal.
  • The muscles of the abdomen should be well developed without any enlargement of the liver or spleen. Any evidence of disease of internal organs of the abdomen can be a cause for rejection.
  • An un-operated hernia can make you unfit for selection. If operated, this should have been done at least six months prior to the present examination and healing should be complete without any potential for recurrence.
  • There should be no hydrocele, varicocele or piles. If operated for hydrocele and/or varicocele, this should have been done at least six months prior to the present examination and healing should be complete without any recurrence.
  • Urine examination will be done and any abnormality, if detected, can be a cause for rejection.
  • Any disease of the skin, which is likely to cause disability or disfigurement, will also be a cause for rejection.
  • Vision will be tested. You must have good binocular vision. In case you have undergone or are detected to have undergone Radial Keratotomy, or any other procedure to improve the visual acuity, you will be permanently rejected. 
  • You should have sufficient number of natural and sound teeth. A minimum of 14 dental points will be acceptable. When 32 teeth are present, the total dental points are 22. You should not be suffering from severe pyorrhoea.
  • Conditions pertaining to women that will entail rejection for all Air Force Duties: 
  • Acute or chronic pelvic infection
  • Severe menorrhagia
  • Severe dysmenorrheal
  • Complete prolapsed of uterus
  • Pregnancy/ Amenorrhea
  • Any other gynaecological condition, if so considered by the specialist.

Tattoo:

Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of the forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and the reverse side of palm/back(dorsal) part of the hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection.
