Civil Services Prelims Exam Pattern

  • According to IAS Prelims Exam Pattern there will be two compulsory subjects such as General Ability test (GAT) and the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT). 
  • The question papers will be of objective in nature with multiple choice questions. 
  • There will be a negative marking in this examination, for any incorrect answer your 1/ 4 marks will be deducted. 
  • However, there is no negative marking for the question left unanswered. 
  • The questions will be set in both Hindi and English language.

Civil Services Mains Exam Pattern

Aspirants who will qualify the preliminary examination will have to appear for Mains examination. So they can prepare for the exam with the help of below given IAS Exam pattern for mains examination. 
IAS Main Exam Pattern
  • In Main examination there will be two types of Papers first is Qualifying Papers and second is Papers to be counted for Merit formation.
  • You have to appear in both the parts.
  • There would be 7 papers in the Main Examination as per the exam pattern of 250 marks each.
  • There will be two optional papers which the candidates will have to choose.

IAS Interview Test:
  • Those candidates who will qualify the main exam may appear for Personal Interview which will be conducted by selection committee of organization.
