UPSC IAS Syllabus for Prelims Paper 1:
Current affairs/ General Science

This includes matters relating to current events, both national and
international importance.

History

It consists of Indian national movement and history of India.

Geography [Indian and world]

It comprises of physical, social, economic geography.

Environment

Aspirants should include environment ecology, biodiversity and
general issues on climatic change and general science.

Indian Polity and Governance

Constitution of India, political system, panchayati raj etc

Economics

It consists of social sector initiatives, sustainable development,
inclusion, demographics poverty etc.

UPSC IAS Syllabus for Prelims Paper 2:
 Problem solving and decision making
 General mental ability
 Comprehension
 Analytical and logical reasoning

 Interpersonal skills including communication skills
UPSC IAS Syllabus for Mains Exam:
The written test will be of 1750 marks and the interview
round will consists of 275 marks. It this exam, seven papers out of total
papers will be considered for final ranking. In Paper A, aspirants need to
choose any one of the Indian Languages but it’s not compulsory for the
individuals who belong to Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim,
Manipur and Nagaland. In Paper 2, questions relate to English Language will be
asked.

UPSC IAS Civil Services Main Exam Pattern:
The UPSC Indian Administrative Service Main exam will be off
1750 marks and after that a personality test of 275 marks will be conducted. The
exam includes 7 papers with 2 papers of descriptive in nature. Question paper

UPSC NDA Exam Pattern:
The test will include two sections which are Mathematics and
General ability test. General ability test is off 600 marks (English 200 marks
+ General Knowledge 400 marks) and Mathematics section is off 300 marks. Each
section will runs for 2.5 hours and no extra time will be given to any
candidate.

UPSC Selection Procedure:
Union Public Service Commission has released various
recruitment notifications by notifying the candidates about vacant post in
different departments. Selection of the candidate is done firstly by taking
into consideration the information mentioned by candidates in their application
forms. After that selected candidates will have to appear for Preliminary
Examination. And candidates who qualify Preliminary Examination then will have
to appear for Mains Examination. Shortlisted candidates then will be called for
personal interview conducted by the selection panel of the commission.
