IBPS Clerk Syllabus
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is going conduct written exam for selection to Clerk Posts. If you want to make their career in banking sector, first you need to qualify the written exam. IBPS conducts the clerk exam in two parts that is Pre and Mains, those candidates who qualify the pre exam only they can appear for Mains Exam. IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

Institute of banking personnel selection decided to take IBPS Online exams in two parts that is Preliminary Exam or Mains Exam. Preliminary Exam will be of objective type and multiple questions will be asked from Reasoning, English and Quantitative Aptitude. Exam pattern of Pre / Main exam as shown below:

IBPS Preliminary Exam Pattern

In this exam, Reasoning ability paper as well as the Quantitative Aptitude paper will hold 35 questions, 1 mark for each question, English language paper will contain 30 questions also 1 mark each. The preliminary exam will be of 100 marks and examination’s duration of all these papers will be 1 hour.

IBPS Mains Exam Pattern

It contains 200 marks and exam’ duration will be of 2 hours and Quantitative aptitude and Reasoning ability will hold Fifty questions, one score for each question, whereas English language and General Awareness hold 40 questions, 1 mark for all, Computer knowledge will still be of 20 marks and will hold 20 questions.

Negative Marking Criteria (Both Prelims & Mains Examination)
  • There will be negative marking for every incorrect answer that means for 1 mark question 0.25 marks will be deducted if candidates have answered it wrong.
  • There will be no marking (neither positive nor negative) for the question which is left blank or unanswered by the candidate.

So candidates should be very careful while choosing the answer for any question. If you are sure about the answers only then make your choice else you may leave the question unanswered and it will no loss at all. If someone answers lots of questions but most of them are wrong then it will lead that candidate towards the negative marking and deduction of gained marks. So candidates are advised to be careful while answering.
