Nationality / Citizenship:

Applying contenders must be:
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A Citizen of India or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
IBPS PO Qualification:
  • Candidates must hold Graduation Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
IBPS PO Age Limit:

Age of candidates should not be less than 20 years and not more than 30 years as on 01.07.2016 i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1986 and not later than 01.07.1996 (both dates inclusive)

IBPS PO Selection Process
  • Appointment of candidates will be done on basis of their performance in Written Examination (Preliminary and Mains Exam) and Personal Interview.
  • Candidates who will qualify in Preliminary Exam they will be shortlisted for Mains Exam only.
  • There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.
  • For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.
  • If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
Contenders who have been shortlisted in the main examination for CWE PO/MT will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.


After completion the Interview Process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2017-18 based on business needs of the Participating Organizations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organizations, based on merit-cum-preference.
