Eligible Courses for PM Scholarship:
  • Professional Degree Courses like BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, etc. duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, such as All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India, UGC etc.
  • Master Degree Courses are not eligible for PMSS except MBA / Management / MCA Courses.
  • Students studying abroad are not eligible for this scheme.
  • No distance learning course is permitted under Narendra Modi Scholarship

PM Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
  • Aspirants, who have taken admission in 2018, are only eligible to apply for PMSS Scholarship Scheme.
  • Those candidates who are studying in 2nd and subsequent years are not eligible for applying against PMSS Research Fellowship
  • Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel who died in harness / disabled due to causes attributable to military service / coast guard service, irrespective of the rank, are also eligible for applying against Prime Minister's Research Fellowship.
  • Dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel and their widows (below officer rank only) are also eligible.

Academic Eligibility Criteria for PM Scholarship:

Candidates applying for PMSS Scholarship Scheme must possess Minimum Educational Qualification as given below:

Prime Minister's Scholarship Amount:
  • A total number of 5500 Narendra Modi Scholarships are allotted in each academic year.
  • PMSS Scholarship Amount is paid to the selected students annually
  • PMSS Scholarships are equally divided amongst boys and girls.

Duration Of Narendra Modi Scholarship Scheme:

Two to five years as permitted by the concerned regulatory body for that PM’s Scholarship Scheme.
for B.Ed, PMSS Scheme is granted for 1 year.

Account Details for Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme:
  • Candidates must have account in State Bank of India or Punjab National Bank which has “Electronic Clearance System” / Core Banking and should be linked to student’s aadhaar number
  • Aspirants must hold minor account which can be converted into minor account
  • In case of minor account, a joint account with parent will also fulfill the requirement.
  • Candidates have to upload 1st page of passbook (in original) in which candidates name and accounts no. shows clearly

  • Notification of PMSS Scholarship 2018 will appear on your screen and you are advised to go through it carefully.
  • After reading the PMSS Scholarship Scheme 2018 Notification carefully, you have to hit on “New Application” tab.
  • If you want to renew your PM narendra modi scholarship scheme then hit on “Renewal Application” link.

  • Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard Certificate as per Annexure-1
  • Bonafide Certificate duly filled up correctly and signed by Principal/Dean/Registrar of the Institute / College as per Annexure-2.
  • Certificate from his/her bank stating that Aadhaar Card of student linked with his / her bank account number as per Annexure-3.
  • Matriculation Certificate duly self attested for verifying the Date of Birth.
  • Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) certificate as applicable (10+2 Mark sheet/ Graduation (mark sheets of 3 years) / Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters)
  • 1st page of Bank Pass Book (PNB/SBI only) clearly showing name and A/c Number of Student
  • Copy of PPO and the following supporting documents in case of Category 1 to 5
