Phase IV:

The fourth phase of Mission Indradhanush has already begun in North-eastern states - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura from 7th February 2017 and will be rolled out in rest of the country in April 2017.

Why is Full Immunization Essential?

Full Immunization is essential because most of the children are dying due to entirely preventable diseases. In India, every year, more than 5 lakhs children were die due to vaccine-preventable diseases. Rest of 89 lakh children remains at risk, because they are either unimmunized or partially immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases. Thus, full immunization is critical if we want to reduce child mortality and progress on socio-economic indicators.
