JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria:
  • Applying aspirants must be a citizen of India
  • NRIs, PIOs, OCIs & Foreign national candidates can also apply.
  • Candidates can apply for JEE Main exam only three times. These attempts limit was counted from 2017.
  • Aspirants applying for JEE Mains 2018 must hold Aadhaar Card as it is compulsory to apply for this exam
Requirement of “Aadhar Card”:
  • Indian aspirants who are applying for JEE Mains 2018 should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI.
  • At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)–2018, aspirants have to enter all the asked details such as AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI’s data.
  • Those aspirants who particulars do not match will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)–2018.
  • All the aspirants applying for JEE (Main)–2018 are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records.
  • This provision is not valid for the Meghalaya, J & K and Assam candidates.
  • Aspirants applying from Meghalaya, J & K and Assam have to enter their passport number, bank account number, ration card number or any other valid Govt. identity number to get examination center in these states only.

JEE Mains Age Criteria:
  • General and OBC category candidates, who are born on or after 1st October, 1993 are eligible to apply.
  • SC, ST and PwD category aspirants, who are born on or after 1st October, 1988 are eligible to fill JEE main application
  • Date of birth stated in the Secondary Education Board/University will be considered only for appearing in the exam
JEE Mains Qualification Criteria:
  • Aspirants applying for JEE mains 2018 must have qualified 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a well recognized board.
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in order to apply.
  • There is no prescribed percentage to appear in the JEE mains exam. Candidates having passing marks can also apply.
  • Candidates who are appearing in 10+2 or its equivalent examination are also eligible for JEE Main 2018.
  • NIOS candidates can also apply for this exam.
  • Aspirants possess diploma degree are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2018 But their rank & score in JEE Main will not be considered for admission in NITs & CFTIs.

Passing Year Eligibility Criteria:
  • Those aspirants who have qualified 10 +2 or its equivalent exam in 2016 or 2017 (not before 2016) are eligible to apply for this exam.
  • Those aspirants who have appeared in 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 but did not cleared in 2015, but passed in 2016 are not eligible to apply.
  • Those contenders who have qualified 12th exam in 2017 & appeared for improvement in 2018 for one or few subjects, then top 20 percentile cut-off for 2017 will be considered.
  • Contenders who writes all the subjects in 2018, then their best of the two performances will be considered.
JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria for Admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs:

Aspirants who want to get admission in to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs must have secured minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST students) in their qualifying examination or must be in top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.

No. of Attempts in JEE Mains 2018:

The examination authority has set a provision regarding JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria that is candidates will only be able to appear in the exam for 3 times that is candidate will get only 3 chances to give the JEE Mains Exam.
