CAT Exam Pattern
  • Candidates can check the CAT Exam Pattern from below:
  • CAT 2018 Exam will be organized on digital or Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • The total exam duration will be 180 minutes.
  • Sixty minutes duration has been allotted to complete each section.
  • All the questions will be multiple choice type and subjective type in CAT Exam Question Paper.
  • CAT Question Paper will comprise of total 100 questions.
  • Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
  • For multiple choice questions, one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer and for questions other than MCQs no marks will be deducted.

How to Choose CAT Exam Center?

All the aspirants who are going to appear in CAT 2018 Exam have to choose their preferred CAT Test City from the above-mentioned test cities in India. Before selecting CAT Test Center, candidates need to create a profile on CAT official website and register themselves for CAT 2018. Exam authority of CAT 2018 tries to allow the first preferred CAT Exam Centres to all applying candidates but due to some circumstances some candidates will get another test centre.  CAT Exam City will be offered to candidates on the basis of number of students applying for CAT 2018.
  • First of all visit to CAT website that is iimcat.ac.in and create a profile it.
  • Now you need to log in to your profile with the user id and password.
  • After that you have to follow the link to fill up the application form online
  • Now, select your preferred CAT Test Centres very carefully in the Application form.
  • Candidates will be able to select up to 4 test centre based on their preference.

CAT Examination Centres - Points to remember:
  • Candidates are required to follow the instructions which are given below at the time of examination.
  • Don’t forget to bring CAT Admit Card at the time of exam to the examination centre.
  • Candidates must carry a valid ID proof along with CAT Exam Admit Card.
  • Reach 1 hour 30 minutes prior the commencement of the test.
  • Candidates can entry in the examination hall before 15 minutes to the start of the CAT 2018 (The last entry to the exam).  
  • You must carry completely filled Scribe affidavit along with the photo ID proof o.
  • No aspirants were allowed to wear shoes inside the examination hall in the last year. However, only foot wears like chappals, sandals, etc. were allowed.
  • Moreover, in the previous year, aspirants were advised not to apply mehendi, henna or any other cosmetic colour on their hands. This done to avoid any discrepancy in the scanning of fingerprints.
