UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Eligibility Criteria:

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Nationality:
  • A Citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam Qualification:

For UPSC Geologists Gr ‘A’:

To appear in UPSC Geologist Exam, candidates must have Master’s Degree in Geological Science / Geology / Geo-Exploration / Mineral Exploration / Engineering Geology / Marine Geology / Earth Science and Resource management / Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies / Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration / Geochemistry / Geological Technology from repudiated university. Candidates satisfying UPSC Geologist Eligibility Criteria are eligible to appear in UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam.

For UPSC Geophysicists:

For UPSC Geophysicists Exam, Candidates should possess M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Integrated Exploration Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or Tech. or Applied Geophysics with good academic records.

For UPSC Chemists:

Candidates must have M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from recognized institution.

For UPSC Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist-B):

Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or marine Geology from reputed institute will be required.

UPSC Geologist Exam Age Limitation will be according to the profiles as on 01/01/1996

UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Application Fee
Application Fee:

Candidates belong to General and OBC category has to pay an UPSC Application fee of for Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist exam of Rs. 200/-(Rupees Two Hundred Only).
All Female Candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes are not required to pay any fee.
