Posts of Group
D and C like Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP)/Tech/NTPC/ASM/Junior Engineer
(JE) are usually announced by the RRB. Candidates who are eligible according to

Those Candidates who want to apply for RRB ALP/Tech
Recruitment they have to crack the Computer based test (CBT). Those contenders
who will qualify from the CBT test will appear in the Computer Based aptitude
test (CBAT). Shortlisted aspirants from the CBAT will be called for the
Document verification.

RRB NTPC Selection Procedure
Aspirants applying for NTPC
Recruitment should go through the below selection procedure, please

First Stage Online Examination (PT – CBT)

Document Verification
Written / Online Examination:
Selection of candidates for mostly posts is done on basis of
their performance in Written Exam. It contains topics like General Knowledge,
Arithmetic Ability, General Intelligence and General Science
etc. candidates who are shortlisted on basis of marks in this exam can undergo
for other rounds.

Questions are based on 10th class Level.
·
This exam contains 100 marks and duration of
this test is 90 minutes.
·
Question
paper is printed in Hindi, English, Urdu and other local languages.
·
Exam also contain negative marking of 1/3 marks
for each wrong answer.
Skill Test:
- Skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk, Reservation-Enquiry Clerk, Typist, Assistant & Time keeper posts. In this test typing skills of appliers are checked.
- In this test candidates have to type 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only. For Hindi Typing test, KrutiDev and Mangal font will be available for skill test on Computer.
Aptitude Test:
Aptitude Test (psychological Test) is conducted for posts of
Assistant Station Master, Motorman (EMU/ MEMU/ DMU) and Assistant Loco Pilots
(ALP). This test contains Odd Figure Test, Similar Figure Test, Short Route
Search Test, Shape, Size & Colour Test, Aptitude Test and Number Based
Test, Yes or No Test, Memory Test, Table Test and Brick Test. Generally
these tests are conducted in groups of 35 - 150 candidates.
Verification of Documents:
All the participants who qualify these stages are called for
Verification of Documents. After above given test candidates are called for the
Verification of Documents. Candidates are required to carry all the essential
documents with them in support of their education, experience, additional
certificates etc. If there will be problem in any certificate or document,
applicants can’t appear for the recruitment.

Written Examination:
In the written examination, candidates have to go through
the online paper that prepared from the subjects like General Knowledge,
Arithmetic Ability, General Intelligence and General Science etc. aspirants
have to complete the question paper within given time limit.

PET (Physical Efficiency Test):
Those candidates, who qualify Physical Efficiency Test,
appear for Physical Efficiency Test. Separate call letters are issued for this
round. Group D posts are Trackman, Porter, Helper-II (Mech), Helper-II
(S&T), Helper-II (Elect), Gr. ‘D’ (Engg.) and Gr. ‘D’ (Store) etc.

Male appliers have to run distance of 1000 Mt.
in 4 Min & 15 sec in one chance.
·
Female appliers have to run distance of 400 Mt.
in 3 Min & 10 sec in one chance.
·
PWD appliers are exempted to appear PET.
Medical Examination:
After all that process, applicants undergo the Medical
Examination before the final appointment on the post. If once candidate passes
the medical exam he/ she will be appointed on the position for which he had
applied. Description of Medical Standard is given below:

After qualifying all above
rounds, shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal
Interview / Documents Verification Process. This is the last
rounds for Railway Selection Process. At the time of Personal
Interview / Verification of Documents, candidates must bring photo
copies as well as the original documents in support of age certificate,
educational certificates, mark sheets, category certificates etc. Final Railway
Selection Process will depend on Personal
Interview only.

Final Merit List:
At last, organization will prepare the final merit list on
the basis of above mentioned tests such as online examination, Typing Skill
Test, Aptitude Test, document verification and medical test. In this final list
only qualified candidate’s name will be mentioned and they will be called soon
for training.
Railway Selection Process is based on merit and is subject
to rules and regulations concerned by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board),
Government of India which consists reservation of jobs for certain
castes/communities such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other
Backward Communities (OBC), etc. Ex-servicemen are also entitled for
reservation as per the rules.
