Application Form 2019 in Fourth week of August 2018. Applicants can do GATE
Online Registration after ensuring their eligibility.
Online registration and submission of application
form will be done on or before the last date that is Second week of October
2018. GATE 2019 Exam Dates is scheduled to be held in First week and Second
week of February 2019.

Step 1: GATE Online Application Processing
System
GOAPS Registration
- Aspirants may apply online by visiting the Gate Official Website that is www.gate.iitg.ac.in.
- On home page of official site select and hit “and read the GATE Notification 2019 carefully.
- Again back to home page and hit the appropriate link to fill GATE Online Registration Form. Gate Brochure” that is given under ‘Quick Links’.
- Read the given Gate Notification and after that select link for online Gate Registration.
- Enter your personal mobile number and e-mail address because all communication will be done through it.
- GOAPS Enrollment ID will be given to the all registered candidates.
- All future communication regarding the examination will be done through GOAPS Enrollment ID.
- All communications from the Offices will be sent to this email address
- The candidate chooses a password during Enrollment at GOAPS.
- This password must be remembered along with the GOAPS Enrolment ID to Gate Goaps Login.
- You are recommended to choose the password which is not easily guessed by any one.
Step 2: Filling in GATE 2019 Application
Required Data for Filling GATE Online
Application Form
- Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.).
- Address for Communication (including PIN code)
- Eligibility degree details
- College name and address with PIN code
- GATE paper (subject)
- Choice of GATE examination cities
- High quality image of candidate’s photograph conforming to the requirements specified
- Good quality image of candidate’s signature conforming to the requirements specified
- Scanned copy of the Eligibility Certificate in pdf format (Degree Certificate or
- Provisional Certificate or Certificate from the Head of the Department/Institute (in the
- format specified in Appendix A)
- Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Scanned copy of Dyslexic Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
- Details of the valid Identity Document (ID) (The same ID, in original, should be carried
- to the examination hall)
- Net-banking/debit card/credit card details for fee payment
- Now go for GATE 2019 Login and GATE Application Form will be displayed on your computer screen.
- You need to fill the asked details before proceeding for payment.
- Fill the GATE Application Form with all necessary information in an appropriate manner without any mistakes.
Identity Proof
- Candidates need to upload any one of the following Identity Documents such as Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar-UID, College ID, Employee ID and Driving License.
- For international candidates, ONLY a valid Passport/Government issued ID/College ID/Employee ID will be accepted.
- Candidates need to have the following certificates such as Category (SC/ST) Certificate, Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate and Dyslexic Certificate.
Step 3: Photograph and Signature Requirements
Photograph Requirements:
- Candidates need to upload a Photograph of 3.5 cm Width × 4.5 cm Height.
- The photograph must be in COLOR and taken after 01 August 2017 in a professional studio.
- Maximum size for JPEG can be 480×640 in pixels (0.3 Mega pixel). Minimum size for JPEG should be 240×320 pixels.
- Background of the photograph must be white or a light color.
- Sign in the rectangular box of size 2 cm × 7 cm (Height × Width) on an A4 white paper.
- The signature with all CAPITAL LETTERS or in any other color (other than black and blue) will NOT be accepted.
- Only JPEG image format will be accepted.
- Max size is 160×560 in pixels and Min size is 80×280 in pixels.

Step 5: GATE Online Form 2019 Scrutiny
and Rectification
- If candidates find any mistake in their GATE Application Form after submission, then they can rectify filled details.
- The status of the application and defects identified in the application will be intimated to the candidates by an e-mail and/or SMS.
- The status of application form can be verified anytime by logging into GOAPS.
- GATE 2019 Online Form Correction contains Name of Candidate, DOB, Name of Parent/Guardian, Status from Gen to OBC and OBC to General, Year of Qualifying Degree etc.
Selection Process:
- Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
- Admissions in IITs/IISc or other Institutes for PG Courses through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Scores shall be advertised separately by the Institutes and GATE 2019.
- The score is used for admissions to post-graduate programs (e.g. M.E./M.Tech/ Direct Ph.D.)
GATE 2019 Exam Pattern:
- This exam is held for total 23 papers. Candidates are allowed to appear in only one of the 23 papers.
- The examination is computer based test and will contain 65 questions of maximum 100 marks.
- There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) & Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT) in examination.
- For MCQ, 4 choices will be provided while there will be no options provided for NAT.
- In the paper of XE, new section (H) namely Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences has been included.
- MCQ and NAT questions will carry 1 or 2 marks in all papers.

Card along with them at time of examination. No
one will be allowed for exam without GATE Hall Ticket. Your Graduate Aptitude
