As stated in the Punjab University Ph.D Admission 2018 notification, admission will be granted to the candidates on the basis of their performance in the Panjab University Entrance Exam followed by Personal Interview.

Qualified candidates in the UGC - NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination / SLET/ GATE examination or who are Teacher Fellowship Holders/ direct awardees of fellowship by DST (INSPIRE), ICMR or any other National Agency are not required to attend the Panjab University Entrance Exam.

Panjab University Entrance Exam Pattern:

• Panjab University Entrance Exam will be conducted in two parts: Objective Type and Descriptive Type.
• 50 multiple choice question will be asked in the 1st part of Panjab University Entrance Exam
• Each question in the first part carry 1 marks
• 60 minutes will be allotted to the candidates to perform the Panjab University Entrance Exam
• In 2nd paper, 10 questions will be asked out of which you have to attempt only 5 questions.
• The paper will be of 50 marks and will last long for 120 minutes.
