CLAT Counselling 2019: National Law University is
going to commence the CLAT Counselling 2019 in the first week of June
2019. Candidates who are going to participate in the Common Law Admission Test

The authorities will release the CLAT 2019 merit list in
which the name of candidates who cleared the CLAT 2019 will be mentioned. Only
those Candidates who qualified the Common Law Admission Test and have their
name in the CLAT Merit list will be able to participate in the CLAT Counselling
2019.

CLAT Seat Allotment Procedure
CLAT Counselling 2019 will be held in four rounds. The seat
allotment for CLAT 2019 will be done on merit-cum-preference basis. Candidates
who clear all the counselling rounds will get admission in UG and PG law degree
programmes in CLAT 2019 participating institutes.

Process
Step-1: Publication of First Indicative List Based on Merit cum Preference
Candidates will be called for counseling according to the
rank earned by them. The First merit will be released released on the basis of the
merit-cum-preference.
Step-2: Payment
of Counselling Fee & Option Exercising by Shortlisted Candidates
Those candidates who will be successfully shortlisted in the
merit list, they required to pay the counselling fee of Rs. 50,000 and choose
any of the following options:
- Lock: If you are choosing this option, then the university selected by the candidate will be allotted NLU. After this process, candidates will not be allowed for further shifting to any other NLUs.
- Shifting: If candidates select “shifting” option, then it will be considered when there is any vacancy arising at NLUs of their choice via subsequent allotment list. Candidate’s default choice will be considered as “Lock”. Candidates have to reserve their seats after paying the counselling fee.
Step-3: Publication
of second list
When the second list will be released by the university,
then it contains the names of finalized candidates and additional waitlisted
candidates. Those candidates who have paid the counselling fee and reserved
their seats in NLUs, their name also be in the second list of counseling. List
of waitlisted candidates will also be released in the second list. The
candidates who are selected against dropped candidates are required to pay the
counselling fee of Rs. 50,000/-.

Step-4: Publication
of Third List allotting seats to candidates
Those candidates who have paid counselling fee, their name
will be on the third round allotment list and reserved their seat in
participating NLUs. The comprehensive list shall include the names of the
candidates who have paid the counselling fee against the first, second and
third indicative lists. List of waitlisted candidates will also released along
with third allotment list that are provisionally selected against dropped out
candidates. Such candidates have to pay the counselling fee and reserve their
seats.
Step-5: Withdrawal
from the Admission Process
If candidates can withdraw from the admission process within
given time as per the CLAT 2017 calendar then the Rs. 10,000/- will be deducted
from the deposited counselling fee. Any withdrawal after the stipulated period
will result in forfeiture of entire amount of counselling fee.
Step-6: Reporting
& Completion of Admission Formalities at the Allotted NLUs
Candidates who will be shortlisted in the whole process of
counseling of CLAT, they required to approach the allotted NLU with the
balanced admission fee. Candidates have to carry all the necessary documents in
original to the allotted institute. Students who fail to appear at the allotted
NLU within given time period will automatically lose their claim for admission
and their counselling fee will be forfeited.
Documents required for the CLAT Counselling:
- Original and copy of CLAT counselling letter
- Original and photocopy of admit card
- Community certificate (SC/ST/OBC/Other) signed by the approved power
- 10th & 12th class photocopy of certificates
- Original degree/provisional certificate if applicants are appearing
- 4-6 Passport size Color photographs
- Other relevant certificates

About CLAT 2019:
- Once in a year, one of the 19 NLUs organizes CLAT on a rotational basis for admission to their 2372 LLB and 604 LLM seats.
- Common Law Admission Test is one of most famous law entrance exam held in India and every year thousands of law candidates participate for the test.
- NUALS, Kochi will be organizing CLAT in online mode.
- The test will include 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) divided into five sections which are Legal Aptitude, English with Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Elementary Mathematics.
- After the announcement of the CLAT Exam Result, applicants will be shortlisted for the CLAT Counselling Rounds on the basis of their ranks.
- Only the candidates participating in all the counselling rounds of CLAT will be allotted seats in their preferred NLUs.
