What's the breakdown of the GRE?

The GRE consists of an Analytical Writing section that includes two essay questions, sections that contain 20 multiple-choice questions, and two Quantitative sections that contain 20 multiple-choice questions.

There is also a sixth, experimental section that will be either Verbal or Quantitative.
This section will not be included towards the final score — ETS uses it to check questions for use on future exams.
