Previous Year Joint Entrance Examination (Main) Paper I Stats:

As per the JEE Main 2018 results, as many as 2, 31,024 candidates have qualified for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018. Till 2017, only 2, 20,000 candidates were eligible to take JEE Advanced. The JEE Advanced examination is conducted for admission to IITs.

This year, around 10, 43,739 candidates appeared for JEE Main 2018 examination. A total of 1, 80, 331 boys cleared the exam, with 50,693 girls qualifying for the next stage.

  • The JEE Main Exam is going to be conducted from 06 to 20-01-2019 in 1,613 centres across the country and in eight centres of abroad countries.
  • The NTA board is not giving any weight to class 12 board exam marks but will rank qualifying students on the basis of their JEE Main 2019 score.

However, candidates have to show the class 12th (regular/improvement) marksheet with 75 per cent marks at the reporting centres at the time of counselling/admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions.

JEE Main Paper I
  • Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics in JEE Main 2019 will be given higher rank.

  • In case the tie is not broken yet, candidates will be given the same JEE Main rank.

JEE Main Paper II
  • Candidate securing higher marks in Aptitude Test will get higher rank, still if the tie is there
  • Higher marks in Drawing Test will be considered to offer higher/better rank.
  • At the next stage to break the tie, ratio of positive and negative marks will be taken into account.
  • In case the tie is not broken yet, candidates will be given same ranks.

What After JEE Main Result 2019?

Those who qualify JEE Main Result 2019 are eligible to participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling on the basis of rank given in JEE Main 2019 Result Merit List.
